Four years since revealing its inaugural collection atMaison et Objetin 2014, French design brand Coedition has opened its firstshowroomin Paris’s seventh arrondissement. The new space spearheads its endeavour to ‘become one of the jewels of French design editors’, and brings togethercollectionsby emerging and established designers alike.

Coedition called upon Italian-born designer Luca Nichetto, one of its design contributors, to refresh the avenue Bosquet building where the shop resides. Nichetto first inserted a polished concrete floor and gave the walls a fresh lick of white paint to create a carefully considered blank canvas and allow the colourful offerings within to shine.

Following this, Nichetto formed geometric wall panels in shades of blue, yellow, pink, orange and beige that artistically frame the showroom and collections. Circular wall pieces in orange and navy, and angular panelling in beige and deep-sea turquoise neatly divide the space and provide layers to theinterior design.

This eclectic colour palate provides a sophisticated backdrop for Coedition’s modern collections. Nichetto’s own ‘You’ sofa and chairs can be found in living and dining room areas, whilePatricia Urquiola’s ‘Altay’ and ‘Luna’ collections andMichael Anastassiades’ ‘T-Square’ marble shelves also pepper the space. These international heavyweights are spread amongst works by local designers too. French-Japanese studio A+A Cooren’s ‘Shika’ office table, Olivier Gagnère’s ‘Star’ side tables and architect Alain Moatti’s ‘Tour Eiffel’ chairs are also on offer.

Colourful and contemporary, Coedition’s debut showroom celebrates how the brand has evolved in the past four years, while looking forward to its bright future.
